Handikrafts Sourcing is the brainchild of Mrs. Kalpana P. Heblekar. . She started the organization in the year 1995, under Small Scale Industries to manufacture and supply a wide range of Indian handcrafted products. After persuing her BCom degree in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning Anantapur has done her M.Ed in Education and has also worked as a Banker in the Shamrao Vithal Co-Operative Bank in Mumbai. Besides, she has completed her CAIIB and Diploma in Fine Arts from JJ Arts School. Later on, she started teaching creative art to other women and giving them the hope of being independent in their own ways. Just to prove that age is not a barier for further studies she completed executive MBA from ISB further persuing her Doctrate in Women Health and Empowerment.Eventually, she started to market and showcase the products made by these women in the national as well as overseas market. She has travelled all over the world and have participated in various international exhibitions solely for the purpose of exposing these products. He has developed 22 cluster groups from Varanasi in North India to down South.

Further, to contribute towards minimizing global warming, Mrs. Heblekar has designed many beautiful Recycled Paper Products, Jute Products, Terracotta Products and Recycled Handmade Paper so that the usage of plastic is reduced. She has also invented the trendy in-house wearable handmade paper Chappals, which has caught the attention of our clients. She feels that “Creativity is next to Godliness” and that every person can be creative through proper training. Hence, in order to promote this idea, she has started a project known as "SAFERWE" (Social Awareness For Empowering Rural / Urban Woman Entrepreneurs).
